Martin Wright Talk at Outside, Hathersage, 23rd January 2024

TSG member and cave diver Martin Wright will be giving a talk on cave diving in the Peak District at Outside in Hathersage on 23rd January 2024. Tickets are available from the link below, with all proceeds going to DCRO. Martin recently released the book Pioneers Beneath The Peak, published by Wild Places Publishing, and this will be a very useful and informative event - please book early to avoid disappointment.

PDMHS Harold Sarjeant Award

I'm pleased to announce that the Technical Speleological Group, to use our full and proper title, has been awarded the 2018 Harold Sarjeant Conservation Award for mine preservation in the Peak District by the Peak District Mines Historical Society, for our work on the excavation and restoration of Longcliffe Mine and Son of Longcliffe. This is a great honour, which demonstrates that caving clubs often lead the way with underground conservation projects. Long may it continue.

TSG 19 Shortlisted for 2017 Tratman Award

The latest Journal, TSG 19 was shortlisted and commended for the prestigious 2017 Tratman Award, given for excellence in caving literature. This is a great honour for the club, given the competition that existed, and shows that a club Journal can be well worth purchasing.
