Base of Elizabeth Shaft, Nettle PotThe Technical Speleological Group (TSG) is an active Derbyshire based caving club. Despite our name we cater for a wide range of caving activities from recreational trips to exploration and digging.

We are based in Castleton, in the heart of the Peak District, and close to several of the best caving trips in Derbyshire, as well as numerous pubs. If you are interested in joining, come along to a monthly club meeting at the Chapel.

A members-only forum is also available for discussion of projects and other club issues in the Information menu.

Odin sub-Cartgate Explorations

Trip on: 18th December 2010. Present: Mickey Campbell, Jess Eades, Martyn Grayson, Phil Wolstenholme.

The lower levels and routes in Odin have always intrigued me, partly as very little clarification or documentation exists other than the 1975 Peter Lord/SUSS survey, and as I was planning a very detailed photographic survey project of the site, I was anxious to ascertain that at least some of those routes still existed, and were stable enough to visit. Shortly before Christmas, on a shivery  minus-5 Saturday morning, a group of us set out to explore the sub-Cartgate pitch and level marked on the survey that lies approximately at the altitude of Knowlegates Sough.

Yorkshire Weekend - Easegill and Stump Cross

Present: Elaine Hill, Clive Westlake, Cara Allison, Larry Blanchard, Nick Place, Kevin Francis, Imogen Shepherd, Mandy Fu, Ben Wright Donald Kelly (NPC guest).

Despite the deluge of the previous few weeks, some folk were either brave or insane enough to go to Yorkshire for a weekend of slightly moist caving.
